    Republic Day is a national holiday in India that commemorates the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950. Fr. Agnel Co-Ed Sr. Secondary School Bhopal celebrated Republic Day in 2024 with a parade, cultural events, ceremonies, and political speeches, in addition to praying for the Nation. Students, Staff and Faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered in the quadrangle. The chief guest, FR. NAZARETH FERNANDES sfx, Superior General of the Society of Pilar, unfurled the national flag, joined by other dignitaries like Local Superior Fr. Agnel Boye sfx, Local Treasurer Fr. Denis Lobo sfx, School Counsellor Fr. Alexander D’souza sfx, Manager Fr. Habil Minj sfx, and School Principal Fr. Manohar Kata sfx and some parents. As the national flag was raised, the attendees paid their respects by saluting and singing the national anthem, led by the school band and choir. The guest of honour oversaw the parade of the four schoolhouses, which marched to the beat of the school marching band. The school choir delivered two captivating performances, a welcome song and a patriotic song, which mesmerized the audience. The taekwondo students exhibited their strength, skills, and techniques in a brave performance.

    Awards were presented to the outstanding students of X and XII who excelled in the CBSE exams held during the last academic year. The superior general, in his speech, emphasized the significance of the Constitution and its unique features like Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution. The chief guest, in his address, appreciated our ruling government for taking India to greater heights. He also acknowledged the works and initiatives taken by the first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and others. He congratulated everyone on the inauguration of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. A scintillating patriotic dance performance was presented by the students, followed by the singing of the national song, concluding the event.
