The closing ceremony of the Silver Jubilee.
Fr. Agnel School launches 'BHOPAL PEACE CONCERT'.
On the occasion of its silver jubilee year, the Management, Students, and Staff of Fr. Agnel Sr. Secondary School in Gandhinagar, Bhopal, came together under the leadership of Manager Fr. Habil Minj, Principal Fr. Manohar Kata and Rev. Dr. Allan Tavares to launch a path-breaking event called the 'Bhopal Peace Concert 2023'. The concert aimed to promote peace leadership and was held on the school campus on the eve of 25th November 2023. In a world ravaged by discrimination, antagonism, and war in the name of race, religion, caste, class, and gender, this initiative by the school is a commendable effort towards spreading the message of peace.
This maiden peace concert, ‘focused on the life of a girl child’, inspired the audience with an impactful heart-touching message:
Say ‘Yes’ to Peace amid every storm
Say ‘Yes’ to Peace & Say ‘No’ to War.
Create a ‘safer world’ for girls & and women
India is a country that reveres and celebrates its Gods and Goddesses, including Durga, Kali, and Mata Mariyam. However, despite this, discrimination against girl children persists, treating them as second-class citizens. The students' scintillating performance showcased how well they were mentored to understand the priceless value of finding 'peace' amidst every temptation, trial, and storm that life throws at us.
At this peace concert, Rev. Dr Allan Tavares composed and directed the event with the help of Rev. Valerian Gracias and Miss Simran Monica Sharma. Maestro Rio Fernandes arranged, mixed, and mastered the music. Through a synergy of drama, poetry, songs, and dance, the event revealed the harsh realities of our society while still holding out hope. It also showed the potential of all people, including men, to rekindle and radiate the gift of peace.
